How GoDaddy became #1.  The firewall chronicles (Zombie computers, DOS attacks, rogue worms).  Pharming (the newest scam).

It's almost time for our fourth Radio Go Daddy show.
You can hear our show live, every Wednesday at 7 pm PST/10 pm EST on satellite radio and over the Internet via live streaming audio. If you miss the live broadcast, you can go to the Radio Go Daddy archives and listen to any show anytime you choose via streaming audio.

Everything you need to know is on the Radio Go Daddy website.
For complete information on radio channels, times, call in information, show archives and how to listen to them, go to www.RadioGoDaddy.com.

It's all about having a little fun.
If you haven't listened in yet, don't think that our show is a technical yawn. It's anything but that. The purpose of the show is first and foremost to have some fun, and to let you discover the interesting and new developments that affect Internet users.

This week's show should be interesting indeed!
Here's what we will be talking about on this week's show:

  • How GoDaddy.com became #1.. We just passed Network Solutions in total domain names under management. We are now #1 in every category. I'll tell you how we managed to go from a brand new registrar with no registrations to number one in the world in just 4 years and 4 months. We did it without acquiring another registrar!
  • The firewall chronicles. Think it's easy being a registrar? Think again. Everyday we fend off the most malicious monsters lurking on the internet. This includes zombie computers that are used by virus writers to launch massive DOS (denial of service) attacks and malicious worms (your computer could very be one of these zombies, simply waiting for a stranger's command to awake and carry out his malicious wishes!).
  • Pharming. The newest internet scam to steal your personal and credit card information. Think Phishing is hard to catch? Wait until you hear about Pharming. But there's good news. There is a way to catch it - but you've got to know what to look for. We'll tell you on the show.

This week's special guest knows a lot about internet security issues.
In addition to Radio Go Daddy regulars: Go Daddy President and Founder Bob Parsons, and Chief Operations Officer, Warren Adelman, we will have as a special guest, our Chief Information Security Officer, Neil Warner. Neil is responsible for our cyber security. Nobody knows more about the trouble that lurks on the internet than Neil.

There are very cool extras for those listening in on the internet via live streaming audio.

  • There are no commercials
  • When the "on air" broadcast (which comes through over satellite (XM and Sirius) and a few AM stations), breaks for commercials, we will continue with special and uncensored "off air" bonus content, which is available only to those who listen in over the internet to the live audio stream made available at www.RadioGoDaddy.com. This week we'll talk about:

    • Strange domains. We've got close to 8 million domain names under registration and, I've got to tell you, we see it all. We'll talk about some domain names that are really weird and how they're being used.
    • Best and Worst of the Blog. We'll talk about some of the really strange comments that I've received, some of which I've posted to the Blog, some of which I haven't. To this day, one of my favorites has to be "You dirty, dirty republican pig... Why don't you fry it (Toby the bunny) up and feed it to Karl Rove." As you might guess, not everybody loves me but that's OK. I don't love everybody either. In addition to strange and pointed comments, you'll also hear some very on target observations. I will of course, give you my response to all of them.

It's easy to listen to the show over the internet.
If you haven't ever listened to a radio broadcast over the internet, don't be intimidated. It's easy. Just go to www.RadioGoDaddy.com a few minutes before the show; listening in is as easy as clicking on the "Listen" icon.

So join us, why don't you?
Remember our show is Wednesday at 7 PM PST or 10 PM EST. Everything you need to know about Radio Go Daddy is at www.RadioGoDaddy.com. Join us, why don't you?
