It’s Super Bowl Sunday! I’m back in Scottsdale and will be watching the Big Game today in my office with The Go Daddy staff. It’s a work day for us. There will be plenty of refreshments – mostly soda pop, popcorn and the like. In each department, there will be big screen TV’s so employees everywhere can see the game. When the day is done, we will raffle off the TVs to some lucky employees who worked in each department. And as is always our policy, we’ll pay whatever income tax is associated with the prize so the winning employees don’t have to hassle with it.
The Maxim Super Bowl Party. This Friday, I was in Miami at the Maxim Super Bowl party with
Candice Michelle,
Danica Patrick and
Valerie Thompson, for the unveiling of the Go Daddy Chopper. The bike was built for us by the Teutuls of
Orange County Choppers. The bike is impressive beyond belief. Granted, I’m a bit biased, but I think the Go Daddy Chopper is one of their finest efforts.
Watch the building of The Go Daddy Chopper. The building of the Go Daddy Chopper airs in two parts on
The Learning Channel’sAmerican Chopper. The first segment aired on February 1. The final segment will air on Thursday February 8th.
Media coverage couldn't be better! Media coverage of Go Daddy’s Third Super Bowl advertising campaign has been unprecedented. It seems that every story that deals with advertising during the Big Game mentions us. As usual emotions range from “love us” to “comical” to “matter-of-fact” to “hate us.”
Go Daddy Girl for MVP? In the comical category, Randy Youngman, writing for the OC Register, made
10 outrageous Super Bowl predictions. One of them was that Brian Urlacher of the Bears would be named Most Valuable Player narrowly edging out Go Daddy Girl, Candice Michelle.
Go Daddy's ad spend in The Wall Street Journal? In the “matter-of-fact” but nevertheless amazing category,
The Wall Street Journal printed a small graph showing Go Daddy’s advertising spend for the past three years.
The worst Hi-Tech Super Bowl Ad of all time? And in the “hate us” category, Harry McCracken mentioned Go Daddy in a column he wrote for PC World entitled “
Best and Worst Super Bowl Tech Commercials.” In the column he listed his 7 favorite commercials. For the worst commercials of all time he wrote, “Sorry, no list – it would just include any and every GoDaddy commercial ever produced.” He then goes on to say that GoDaddy’s commercials make him feel like going door-to-door beseeching other people not to use our services.
How I know our ads our working. After reading Mr. McCracken’s review, I sat back and smiled. I loved the review. In a nutshell, Mr. McCracken told me that our commercials are indeed working. You see, after most people read his review, if they look up any commercial at all, they will look up Go Daddy and watch our commercials. And after watching our commercials, the vast majority will smile, then try our company. Then after they have a chance to experience our outstanding customer service, great products and prices they will become customers for life. That's why GoDaddy.com is now the world's largest registrar more than twice the size of its closest competitor!
It's all here for you to see. But I digress. It’s Super Bowl Sunday. As always, Go Daddy has an entertaining and edgy commercial and a slightly edgier Internet-Only version of the commercial. Also available is Behind-the-Scenes footage that was taken during the making of our Super Bowl Commercial.
To see our Super Bowl commercial and Director's Internet-Only Cut (as well as both banned commercials)
please click here. Both versions of the Super Bowl ad and the Behind-the-Scenes footage will be made available shortly after kickoff.
Our commercial will appear during the Big Game in the following slots: 6th Commercial break. First commercial.
21st Commercial break. Second commercial.
Post Game Show. 1st Commercial break. Second commercial.
God Bless America!
